D. Saunders is a singer, songwriter, musician, and entertainer from Chesapeake, Virginia, but currently residing in Mississippi.  As a kid, he began singing in the church choir where his father was the organist.  It was evident that D. possessed an exceptional talent for music from a young age. His strong vocals and impeccable control allowed him to effortlessly sing in various vocal ranges. Recognizing his gift, D. Saunders began honing his craft by learning to play multiple instruments, writing songs, and exploring numerous musical genres to develop his own unique style.

After graduating from high school, D. Saunders decided to serve his country by joining the U.S. Air Force.  While in the military, fellow airmen discovered his singing abilities, and he was given the opportunity to travel the world and perform for other soldiers.  Some of the places he’s performed include Japan, Guam, and the Philippines.

Drawing inspiration from musical legends such as Stevie Wonder, Philippe Wynne, and Sam Cooke, D. Saunders infuses his music with a timeless quality that captivates audiences of all generations. His music is described as soulful R&B with a splash of jazz and pop.

Saunders released his debut album, “The New Old School,” in 2014. It showcased his versatility as a vocalist and songwriter.  Some of his most notable tracks from that album include “Move”, “Step With Me”, and “I Need No Other Lover”.

Since the release of his debut album, D. Saunders has continued to build on his success with follow-up albums, “Who Is D. Saunders The Gentleman of Soul”, which features 19 southern soul tracks, and “Let Me Sing to You”, a beautiful ballads-only album.  Whether performing in small intimate setting or on the big stage, D. Saunders has a remarkable ability to connect with his audience and even involve them in his shows.

D. Saunders has collaborated with a diverse range of artists and producers, further expanding his musical horizons. His collaborations have showcased his versatility, as he effortlessly adapts to different styles and genres, lending his vocals to numerous projects. D. Saunders brings a level of artistry to music that is undeniable.
